Ren W. Klinovskiy

Ren W. Klinovskiy centers her practice on a commitment to exceptional, collaborative defense of health care professionals. As the daughter of a nurse at a critical access hospital, Ren grew up witnessing the sacrifices that define patient care. To this day, the realities of frontline health care shape how she advocates for clients, listens to their challenges, and fights to protect their personal and professional interests in both litigation and licensing investigations.

In litigation, Ren defends clients in medical malpractice, vaccine injury, civil rights, and general liability actions in state and federal court. On the licensing side, Ren has served as lead counsel from initial investigations through hearings, and she has defended clients in over 100 regulatory proceedings by the Boards of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Counseling, and Long-Term Care Administrators. In addition, Ren has assisted clients in matters involving the Judicial Inquiry and Review Commission, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, private insurance companies, and state entities conducting grievance hearings.

Ren holds leadership positions in the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys and the Richmond Bar Association, and she is regularly recognized in Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers. During her time with the University of Richmond Law Review, Ren spearheaded the annual symposium and accompanying book: Forming a More Perfect Union with Public Health Law. Ren continues to give presentations to lawyers and health care professionals as often as she can.

Outside her practice, Ren takes great pride in supporting local arts through her activity on the Board of Directors for Cadence Theatre Company. Otherwise, Ren enjoys hiking, reading, and listening to as much music as possible.
